AVSociety vol.1 - Mirror Us CD-2 (refleXIon)

1.1. Description of pack

This back-advertising pack. Here we put some presets, published in October. You may see information about presets and find interesting packs for you. Most of presets were specially edited for the compilation and there are some new presets.

This is reflection of our work. I try to make this compilation looking like production of one artist. Hope, I did it because we are really one artist: A.V. Society.

AVSociety: Alliance Of Best AVS Designers

2.1. What is AVSociety

One year of AVS existence bring so many new names and nice works to us. Now we can say that AVS culture is almost formed. It is new branch of art that combines artwork, video and movement effects and prolongs previous tries to visualize music in light and video.

But today's state of AVS-design may be called as amorphous. AVS is staying not so popular because of insufficiency or absence of info about this plug-in and about AVS-preset designers. So many people dislike it just because they never see good presets. There are so many talent but unknown artists and there are so many untalented artists publishing their stuff. It's not difficult to make something called as AVS-presets and to publish it on some sites.

Therefore popularization of creative AVS-design is strongly needed to change today's situation in visualization development and to form user's taste to real art. We must show everybody what amazing things AVS can produce and help them to choose best from today's stream of preset stuff.

I expressed the idea of best AVS-creators union at September 20, 2000. I was asking Tonic to invite all good preset-designers to take part in monthly compilations of best presets. And how do you like it?

But our purpose is not only compilations. Our primary goal is popularization of AVS-playing and designing. Also our organization get us abilities of mutual aid and inter-work. Now we are setting relations with NullSoft and we'll set relations with target user i. e. with you.

I'm very proud to be member of this organization. I think all that we going to do will be only best.

AVS Overview

3.1. Introducing AVS

AVS (also known as WVS) is WinAMP Advanced Visualization Studio - greatest visualization plug-in for well known software music player WinAMP by NullSoft.

from www.winamp.com:
WVS is the mother of all Winamp visualization plug-ins. It lets the user build a countless number of custom visualizations from an ever-expanding library of effects. WVS supports windowed/fullscreen rendering, preset customization, module stacking, skinnable windows, support for Sonique visual plug-ins, and a ton of other features. WVS will now come bundled with all versions of Winamp after v2.6, so everyone can get a taste of its visual sonic goodness.

3.2. Why AVS?

I was watching whole history of software music players from DOS age to our days. Every creator of player software wants to include visualization module in it. But visualization effects were simple or slow to these days. Also they wasn't allowing deep customization.

Also the greatest problem of all previous visualization systems including light and video was insensitivity to rhythm of music. It's so irritant when video or light are going in other beat then music.

Now you can allow pleasure of real music vision for yourself. AVS is really beat and sound sensitive without any faking. It's fast but don't requires expansive videocard or processor. This system allows not customization but full development of new visualizations with using of variety nice tuning tool effects.

That's because we are staying in AVS and recommending it for your pleasure. We are treating it as new art and we are doing all to make you sure in our words. Just look at our presets to know how amazing things AVS can produce.

AVS is very good for house and home parties because it can nice operate with any sound stream even non-stop. Ask your DJ for AVS!

3.3. Where to get help

You can get help for users and designers at www.winamp.com/nsdn/wvs.

Those who are just starting may read this: http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/wvs/user/walkthru.jhtml

We know that documentation on AVS is incomplete. But AVS is still developing. We'll compile and publish AVS User Guide and AVS Designer Short Guide soon.
